What is the Personal Craziness Index?
It is a self-monitoring method described by Dr. Patrick Carnes. You track seven personal warning signs, the small behaviors that tend to slip first. A rising count is an early signal to slow down and pay attention, well before a hard day becomes a hard week.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your data stays on your device, and the developer has no way to see it. The app has no developer analytics, no ads, and no third-party SDKs. Only Apple's standard system metrics apply, which you control in iOS Settings. iCloud sync is optional and off by default, and it uses your own private iCloud rather than any developer server. This website uses Umami, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool that counts visits without collecting personal information, and that has nothing to do with the app. See the privacy policy for detail.
How do I set a passcode or Face ID lock?
Open Settings inside the app and turn on the app lock. You can set a passcode, and Face ID or Touch ID will unlock the app when available.
Can I change my seven indicators?
Yes. You can edit your active indicators at any time in Settings. Retired indicators are kept rather than deleted, so your history still reads correctly against the signs you were tracking at the time.
How do I export my data?
Export is part of Seven Tells Pro. Open Settings and choose Export to produce a CSV, JSON, Markdown, or PDF file and share it wherever you like, for example with a sponsor or therapist. Export happens entirely on your device.
What does Seven Tells Pro unlock?
The daily check-in, your 0 to 7 score, your gut rating, a day note, life events, the seven-day trend, a daily reminder, crisis contacts, and the gentle streak are all free. Pro is a one-time purchase, never a subscription, that adds longer trend ranges (month, quarter, year, and all time), a second daily reminder, the standalone journal with formatting and a mood, and data export. It unlocks on every device signed into your Apple ID.
Does the app track a streak?
Yes, a small streak counts the days you check in, to help the habit stick. It is meant as gentle encouragement, not pressure: missing a day carries no penalty, and the streak simply starts again the next time you check in.
How do I turn off iCloud sync or remove the cloud copy?
In Settings, open iCloud Sync and turn it off. You will be offered the option to also delete the copy already stored in iCloud.
A note on safety
